Etiquette in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are an archipelago off the coast of Morocco and has a population of over 2 million people.

The islands are part of Spain.

The official language is Spanish.

Canary Islanders follow Christianity, and most Christians are adherents of Roman Catholicism.

The currency of the Canary Islands is the euro.

Casual dress is the norm in the Canary Islands. As in most situations, you will want to dress more formally in high-end restaurants and for business meetings.

Much as on mainland Spain, tipping is not mandatory though generally considered to be appropriate and appreciated. Round up to the nearest euro and tip around 7 to 13 percent.
