The currency of Mongolia is the tögrög.

Inexpensive gifts that are representative of your home country or state are considered polite, though not necessary or expected in business.

Gifts will be opened in front of the giver.

When visiting a home, be sure to try some of the snack offered.

A bowl of liquor may be passed around. If you don’t want to drink it, that’s fine. Just put the bowl towards your lips and pass it on.

If visiting a yurt, don’t knock on the door. Shouting “Nokhoi khor!” is more appropriate.
