Formality is the rule of the day for business attire. Top designers and fashion are extremely important, but flashiness isn’t. Men and women should both choose dark colors for business meetings and become acquainted with the company’s dress code if possible. It’s unlikely a large company will embrace business casual clothing for their employees, so plan accordingly.

It’s best to arrive within a five minute window of the invitation.

Don’t dress down. Business clothing is appropriate here, though you wouldn’t necessarily discuss business in a person’s home. People prefer to keep their work and home lives separate.

Your host will likely walk you back as far as your car when you make your exit.
