Men should wait to shake hands with a woman. A nod will do if need be.

Gifts such as a fruit basket, pastry, cookies, and chocolates are always welcome. Small gifts for children are welcome. If you give flowers, these should be for the hostess.

Give gifts with both hands. Don’t expect the gift to be opened immediately.
