28 May Appropriate High School & College Graduation Gifts
You know a child who is graduating from high school or college and you have been invited to the graduation or the party. What would be an appropriate gift for the child? Many believe that money is it but when you give money or a gift card, you are putting a price on your relationship with the child and his or her connection to you. Instead consider one of these gifts:
- a book of quotes or inspirations
- a duffel bag – kids need to carry stuff
- a piece of jewelery they can wear everyday like a gold chain or natural stone bracelet
- something electronic that they don’t already have
- a laptop case
- a nice pen
- leather portfolio with their initials on it
- stationery with their monogram or name printed on it (correspondence cards are best)
- a personal reading light
- a digital camera or if they already have a camera, a case for it
- digital picture frame
- an alarm clock for their new abode (dorm or apartment)
